Monday 12th - THE FRIENDS OF RICHMOND PARK JUBILEE YEAR
Daniel Hearsum has been responsible for the ambitious restoration of Pembroke Lodge
over seven years without ever closing it. He has invited Richmond Society members and guests to meet on
Monday 12 September 2011 at 7pm in The Belvedere, Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park.
Throughout its colourful history Richmond Park has had both enemies and allies.
Supported by a number of high-profile figures and the remarkable Hearsum family,
the Friends of Richmond Park have “acted as a bulwark against environmental and other threats”.
In this, their Jubilee year, they have published the first ever Guide to the Park.
Chairman of the Friends of Richmond Park Ron Crompton will talk about
their cataloguing of the large Hearsum collection
on the history of the Park with the aim of providing public access to it on-line.
Special meeting: Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park at 7.00 pm - with wine.
Please Note: After the park closes at 7 pm access by car will be through Richmond Gate only,
where a Gatekeeper will let us in and out during the evening.
There is ample parking at Pembroke Lodge. Please offer a lift to anyone who may need one.
