The Richmond Society
Richmond upon Thames is the London Borough where the country
comes to town. Its unique situation on a beautiful bend of the
river, bounded by two Royal Parks and Kew Gardens, has attracted
visitors for centuries, and we must thank previous generations
for the fact that so much of its beauty has been preserved for
so long. It was due to local pressure in the past, that two of
its vistas are actually protected by Acts of Parliament - the
view from The Terrace across the water meadows and river and
the view from the Park over seven miles of London to the dome
of St Pauls Cathedral.
The Richmond Society works to preserve and enhance all of
this and more. For further information, click on Richmond Society at a Glance
or any of the links above.
