Infrastructure
The Richmond Society has always maintained a keen interest
and involvement in issues relating to traffic, highways, car-parking,
public transport and aircraft, in so far as they affect the Richmond
area. We have played a leading part in preparing detailed
studies on these topics, and have consistently campaigned for
effective measures to reduce the impact of through-traffic on
the town and to increase pedestrian mobility and amenity.
The Society has also campaigned against aircraft noise, night
flights, and the expansion of Heathrow Airport through a fifth
terminal or third runway. For our most recent submission, see the
Richmond Society Response
to the Night Flying Restrictions Stage 2 Consultation.
We also work on many other aspects of the town's infrastructure
including litter and trade waste.
Please let us know what you are particularly concerned about,
and together we can try to make a difference.
