Tree Planting & Landscaping
The Richmond Society plays a direct rôle in the enhancement
of Richmond through its tree, shrub and bulb planting, landscaping
and paving schemes, implemented in co-operation with the local
authority. We also watch out for threats to trees and the landscape
in Richmond through poor maintenance, building development, etc.,
and make our views known to the public and to the relevant bodies.
The Tree Planting Scheme, in particular, makes a valuable
contribution to improvement of the environment, by providing
trees for Richmond's streets and other areas. The Society pays
£80 towards each tree planted by the Council and our Tree
Fund is supported by donations from members and the proceeds
from our Summer Walks. If you would like to help by making a
donation or suggesting a location which might be improved by
tree planting or landscaping please let us know.
