Antisocial Behaviour & Licencing
In the last few years there has been a growing awareness that
Richmond town centre and the riverside faces problems of antisocial
behaviour and that many of these problems are caused or exacerbated
by alcohol. Of course Richmond is not alone in this and other
towns have similar problems. The Licensing Act 2003 will bring
about many changes in the way in which licensing applications
are dealt with. The effect of the Antisocial Behaviour Act 2003
and increased commitment by the Council and the police to tackle
these problems creates a real opportunity of addressing these
complex problems. The Society will be working towards this in
close conjunction with the Council, the police and the Friends
of Richmond Green.
Applications for Licence variations under the new Licensing
Act are now being processed by Richmond Council. A briefing sent
to all residents on Richmond Green is available by clicking this

on Richmond.
The process for objecting to an application for a licence
variation is available by clicking this link: How
to object to applications for Licence variations.
